Student Activities & Clubs
Piedmont Community College has a wide variety of clubs and organizations on campus. Listed below are the current active clubs and organizations at PCC, with a brief description and the contact number for the faculty/staff advisor. If you don’t see a club or organization that meets your particular interest, contact Nan MacFadyen at about starting a new club.

Student Government Association

The SGA is the governing body of student government and concentrates on:

Student Representation -- The SGA Executive Council will reactivate and work with the Student Senate to make sure that all students have the opportunity to have their issues heard and addressed.

Community Relations -- activities like the Angle Tree, blood mobile, community service, etc.
Student Issues -- current issues/needs of students and future needs of students
Communication -- finding better ways to communicate what is happening on campus (facebook, student newspaper, community resources, etc.)

Student Involvement -- getting more students involved in activities/organizations on campus, encourage formation of new clubs and organizations that would give more students opportunities to get involved.
Review the activities of current clubs and organizations on campus and approve the charter of new clubs and organizations

Leadership Development -- utilizing workshops, conferences, and other opportunities to expand student leadership development on campus

Funding -- Responsible for managing, allocating, and evaluating the use of funds generated by the Student Activity Fee.

Student Activities Council

The SAC will concentrate on providing a variety of campus activities for students and will be advised by Nan McFayden. The SAC is currently made up of representatives from all of the active clubs and organizations on campus and will look to expand as it becomes more active. It will concentrate on:
Providing an opportunity for students to be involved in a variety of activities that will support and enhance the academic experience for students
Provide quality experience for all students on both the Person and Caswell County Campuses
Soliciting input from the College Community on what activities and programs would interest them
Request, manage, and evaluate the funds provided by the SGA to provide the best use of student activity fees.

Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor and service society. The major purposes of Phi Theta Kappa are to encourage scholastic effort and reward academic merit, to stand for and promote worthy character and high ideals, and to foster, disseminate and improve education through service projects. Phi Theta Kappa is open to students who have completed at least 12 semester hours in an associate degree program with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5.

Student Nursing Association

The purposes of the Student Nursing Association are to promote health care in the community, supplement the cost of the nursing program at Piedmont Community College for students, and promote awareness and recognition of the Associate Degree Nursing program at Piedmont Community College.

C.A.R.E. (Human Services)

CARE is the organization for human services students (although all students are welcome).  CARE supports students in their educational goals through conferences and service opportunities and also supports their community through service projects. 

Film/Video Production Technology Club

The FVP Film Club's mission is to strengthen the learning experience for students enrolled in the film program through independent, self-directed film production and to enhance the profile of the Film and Video Production program throughout Piedmont Community College's service area through events and service activities. 

ACM Student Siggraph Chapter

The ACM Student SIGGRAPH Club is an open club for all students but focuses mainly on the digital and video interests of the DEAT and Film progams. The club's goal is to get at least one student to the ACM SIGGRAPH Annual conference each year. In the mean time... members enjoy extracurricular learning lessons, game nights, and field trips! 

Criminal Justice Club
The Criminal Justice Club at Piedmont Community College provides criminal justice students extracurricular activities related to their program of study. Students are able to meet other criminal justice students and discuss current issues in criminal justice.

PBL (Business Club)

Phi Beta Lambda is a national organization for all students enrolled in business or office programs in post-secondary schools and colleges. The major purposes of the organization are to develop competent, aggressive business leadership, to strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work, and to create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise.

PCC Engage (Warriors for Christ)

The Engage club is a group of PCC students who confess and believe that Jesus is Lord. We exist to engage one another, our campus, and the world with truth. We have monthly meetings. If you would like to find our more information about the club please feel free to email us at

3M Club

The purpose of the 3M Club is to provide a nurturing environment where the student feels connected to the college, empowered and motivated to succeed, and supported by services that meet his needs.

Women's 3M Club
The objectives of this Association are to help women of different minorities to achieve their academic, personal, and social goals.  Women’s Mentoring Minority will empower, educate, and  encourage women of all ages. 

Science Club

The focus of the Science club is to promote the preservation of the environment through recycling and assisting the college and its student body by promoting the awareness of our natural resources.

Athletic Club

The main focus of our Athletic club will be to encourage physical fitness (and mental well being) through walking and/or running. This is a noncompetitive club so that those of all physical fitness levels will be welcomed. The Athletic club utilizes the Nature Trail on the Person Campus as a course for students, faculty and staff to follow as they walk or run.

LEO Club

The Leo club is sponsored by the Person county chapter of the Lion’s club and its main focus is working with programs that provide eyeglasses and other needs to the visually impaired.

Veteran’s Club

The Veteran’s club is OPEN to ALL students! Its membership is not solely based on your military status. If you would like to be a part of the club and show your support of our veteran’s and current military personnel, come join us!

Spanish Club
Karl Fisher - ext. 2198
A Spanish Club provides the opportunity for students to speak Spanish outside of the classroom with people other than their instructor and classmates. Furthermore, it provides a venue for cultural events that are not necessarily included in the regular university curriculum: films, meals at local Mexican restaurants, lectures, cooking demonstrations, and musical performances are examples of activities of the proposed club.

Creative Minds Club

The Creative Minds Club is a place where students interested in the arts can meet and work and share their passion with the PCC community. We have had art sales and trips, and have participated in several campus activities, all of which have helped to foster a sense of purpose for students of the arts.

Medical Assisting Club
Brandy Loftis - ext. 2231 
The Medical Assisting Club works with various projects that help to support the needs of local family care practitioners and raise awareness for the needs of children in having a primary care physician.
