The Center is open to children of students, College staff, and the general public regardless of race, nationality, or creed and has an enrollment capacity of 34 children. Once capacity is reached, a waiting list is established with children of students having first priority.
The Center is open 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, year-round. We serve children two (2) through five (5) years of age.
The Center has a highly qualified and educated staff dedicated to meeting the developmental, educational and social needs of young children. The staff strives to create a wholesome, happy and safe environment for the children to develop a positive self-image and a respect for other children and adults. We follow the NC Division of Child Development’s recommended curriculum, Creative Curriculum, which offers a variety of social/emotional and educational experiences. We also have a secure key-pad entrance at our Center. This is an added safety feature and only authorized personnel and family members have access to enter our facility without being escorted by a staff member.
PCC Child Development Center considers the “home-center” relationship to be very important in the development of young children. We have a very family friendly atmosphere and encourage the families we serve to visit, interact and volunteer with their children while enrolled at the Center.
Summer Day Camp (depending on enrollment)
PCC’s Child Development Center offers a full summer day camp for ages 6-12. If spaces are available for summer camp, enrollment will begin on April 19, 2023.
