Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) inaugural class of Practical Nursing (PN) graduates have achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).

The NCLEX-PN was the final step for the fifteen graduates to become licensed Practical Nurses. PCC’s PN program began February 2024 and a new cohort begins each January.

“As the Director of the PCC Nursing Program, I am incredibly proud to announce that the inaugural cohort of our Practical Nursing program has achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the NCLEX-PN,” Darrick Woods, PCC Director of Nursing Programs said. “This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and passion of our students, as well as the commitment of our outstanding Nursing faculty to provide a rigorous and supportive learning environment. We are excited to continue fostering excellence in Nursing education and to see these new nurses have a profound impact on not only healthcare but also, our community.”

“Congratulations to our first cohort of Practical Nursing students for achieving a remarkable 100 percent pass rate on the NCLEX-PN examination,” Dr. Barbara Buchanan, PCC Vice President of Instruction/Chief Academic Officer said. “Perseverance by these students and exceptional instruction by faculty led to this milestone. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Here’s to your bright futures and the positive impact you will make in the world of healthcare.”
