• Connect to power: Keep the laptop plugged in to avoid interruptions.  
  • Remove peripherals: Unplug USB drives, printers, and other accessories.  

  1. Open Start → Settings.
  2. Navigate to System → Recovery (or Windows 10: Update & Security → Recovery).
  3. Under Reset this PC, click Get started.
  4. Choose “Remove everything” for a full factory reset.
  5. Select either Cloud download or Local reinstall.
  6. Confirm the choices; then click Reset to initiate.
    • Cloud download gets the latest Windows image, ideal for corrupted systems.
    • Local reinstall uses existing system files and works offline.  

  1. Fully shut down the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and press F11 repeatedly as soon as it starts.
  3. The HP Recovery Manager (or Windows Recovery) should load.
  4. Select Troubleshoot → Reset this PC (or System Recovery).
  5. Choose “Remove everything” and follow the on‑screen prompts to complete the process.
