Grants Office Mission
We expand Piedmont Community College’s capacity to transform lives, strengthen community, and inspire excellence by securing and stewarding philanthropic and public funding that advances student success, workforce readiness, equity, and affordability across our Hometown College.
Grants Office Vision
We envision Piedmont Community College’s Grants Office as a collaborative, data‑informed, and service‑oriented partner that helps build a supportive learning community where every proposal and award contributes to professional and/or personal success, valuable skills, and meaningful employment. Through ethical practice, broad access, and continuous improvement, we will be recognized for enabling students and the College to build strong futures and make lasting contributions to their families, workplaces, and communities.
Grant Submission Process
- Advance approval is required before submitting a grant on behalf of the College. Contact the Director of Institutional Grants to learn about the approval steps and/or complete the Grant Request Form as linked below.
- The Director of Institutional Grants must review all proposals, and the President must approve all proposals before submission.
- Grants Office staff are authorized to submit federal grants; therefore, collaboration is required.
Federal Grant Opportunities
- All federal discretionary grants are listed on Grants.gov, which is the main portal for electronic submissions.
- The process of applying for federal grants necessitates careful planning and coordination. Faculty and staff seeking federal grant opportunities are encouraged to collaborate closely with the Grants Office to allow ample time for proposal development and submission.
- Additionally, plan to assume responsibility for leading the proposal writing effort with guidance and assistance from the Grants Office.
