Piedmont Community College (PCC) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded nearly $200,000 through the FY23 State & Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP). This funding will enhance the college’s cybersecurity infrastructure with the acquisition of state-of-the-art Next Generation cybersecurity equipment.

The grant will significantly strengthen PCC’s ability to safeguard its critical network infrastructure by providing advanced firewall protection and redundancy. In addition to reinforcing the college’s cybersecurity defenses, the new equipment will play a vital role in improving disaster recovery and business continuity, helping to ensure seamless operations in the event of unforeseen disruptions.

“We are thankful for this grant, which enables us to make essential investments in our cybersecurity infrastructure,” Jim Tagliareni, PCC’s Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO) said. “The deployment of this Next Generation cybersecurity equipment will strengthen our ability to safeguard digital resources and ensure uninterrupted services for our students, faculty, and staff, even during unforeseen disruptions.”

The enhanced cybersecurity system reflects PCC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening security and ensuring operational excellence, reinforcing the college’s dedication to providing a safe and dependable learning environment.
