Piedmont Community College (PCC), in partnership with the Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce, held a ribbon cutting on November 6 to celebrate the renovation of three science labs on the Person County Campus.
The newly renovated labs feature modern tables, chairs and cabinetry along with upgraded safety features and enhanced technology to support hands-on instruction in biology and chemistry. These upgrades create a more interactive and engaging learning environment, preparing students for success in both transfer programs and technical careers.
“These new labs represent our continued investment in student success,” Dr. Kevin Lee, PCC president, said. “By providing state-of-the-art learning environments, we’re ensuring that our students gain the skills and experiences they need to thrive in higher education and the modern workforce. We are deeply grateful to the Person County Commissioners for their support in making these renovations possible.”
Additional speakers included Katie Hester, PCC biology instructor and Person County Commissioner Sherry Wilborn. Following the ceremony, attendees toured the new labs and had the opportunity to see firsthand how the modernized spaces will benefit students and faculty.
