Piedmont Community College (PCC) has announced that Dr. Kenneth A. Boham will serve as interim president after the departure of current president, Dr. Pamela G. Senegal.
Boham served as president of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute (CCC&TI) from 1995 until his retirement in 2016. Prior to his presidency at CCC&TI he served as Vice President for Continuing Education at Wake Technical Community College. Boham’s extensive community college experience includes serving as interim president of Mayland Community College, Martin Community College, James Sprunt Community College and Johnston Community College.
During Boham’s tenure at CCC&TI, the college experienced phenomenal growth in student population as well as facilities. He was awarded NC Community College System President of the Year in 2003.
“As we welcome Dr. Boham, we are confident in his ability to provide steady leadership as we begin the search for a president,” Antonio Foster, PCC Board of Trustees Chair said. “The Board looks forward to working together to ensure a smooth transition and continued success for our students, faculty and staff.”
The State Board of Community Colleges approved Boham as PCC’s interim president effective March 3 during their February 21 meeting. PCC’s Board of Trustees is in the early planning stages of the national presidential search for the next president.
