The Piedmont Community College (PCC) Board of Trustees met November 5 as part of their quarterly meetings where they voted to expand academic offerings and honored the contributions of former trustees, Bob Morgan and Joel Adler.

Morgan was honored with a Resolution of Appreciation for his service as a trustee. Morgan served as a trustee for four years until his term expired June 2024. Board Chair Antonio Foster thanked Morgan for being an impactful board member and for his service on the Buildings and Grounds Committee. Morgan noted that PCC has been a big part of his life and thanked the board for the opportunity to serve.

Adler was unable to attend the meeting but was also honored with a Resolution of Appreciation for his service as a trustee. Adler served as a trustee for four years and resigned August 2024 to move back to Virginia, where he is originally from.

The Board approved the additions of the Medical Sonography Program and Associate in Engineering Program. Both programs will start Fall 2025.

In addition to approving new programs, the Board approved the donation of seven acres of land on Memorial Drive in Roxboro from the Person Memorial Hospital Foundation that will be used for PCC signage. They also approved the renovation of the science labs on the Person County Campus.
