Piedmont Community College (PCC) hosted a Food Lion Feeds event on March 12, packing 114 food bags for students in need.

Food Lion Feeds is a food insecurity initiative that aims to fight hunger in the communities it serves. Both Food Lion stores in Person County joined together to donate 1,785 items towards PCC’s “Forgot Your Lunch” program and food pantries.

Along with representatives from Food Lion, PCC students, faculty and staff joined forces to pack a total of 114 bags of food.

“We are grateful to our Person County Food Lion stores for their generous donation and their commitment to helping us address food insecurity,” Dr. Kevin Lee, PCC President said. “Their generosity helps ensure our students can focus on their education without the burden of wondering where their next meal will come from. This is one more barrier that we can help eliminate for our students.”
