He brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in information technology, digital transformation, operations and customer experience across complex, highly regulated organizations. Throughout his career, he has successfully led large-scale technology initiatives, modernized enterprise systems, enhanced cybersecurity programs and built high-performing teams focused on delivering exceptional service and measurable results.

Before joining Piedmont Community College, he held senior leadership positions with nationally recognized organizations, including, Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, NeoGenomics and Certified Group. His experience spans strategic technology planning, infrastructure modernization, enterprise applications, data analytics, customer support operations and organizational transformation. He has led global teams and managed multimillion-dollar technology and operational portfolios while consistently improving service delivery and operational efficiency.

“We are excited to welcome Mark Ramey as our new Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer,” Dr. Kevin Lee, PCC President said. “His extensive knowledge and experience will be instrumental as PCC continues to advance its digital infrastructure and expand innovative, reliable services that support student success, instructional excellence and institutional growth.”

As Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, he will provide strategic leadership for the College’s technology vision, infrastructure, cybersecurity, academic technology and digital services. He will work closely with faculty, staff, students and community partners to ensure technology supports student success, instructional excellence, workforce development and institutional growth.

“I am honored to join Piedmont Community College and contribute to its mission of serving students and the community,” Mark Ramey, Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer said. “Technology plays a critical role in expanding opportunities, supporting learning and improving operational effectiveness. I look forward to partnering with faculty, staff, and students to build innovative, reliable and customer-focused technology services that help advance PCC’s mission and vision.”

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The Ohio State University and is a Project Management Professional (PMP).

His tenure as PCC’s Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer began on June 1.
