The Piedmont Community College (PCC) Board of Trustees met February 4 as part of their quarterly meetings to recognize the outstanding leadership of PCC President Dr. Pamela G. Senegal and to welcome newly appointed trustee, Kyle Puryear.

During her final Board of Trustees meeting as PCC’s president, trustees expressed their appreciation for Senegal’s steadfast leadership and commitment to PCC. Her dedication to advancing higher education and workforce development has been instrumental in positioning PCC as a leader in the region. The Board commended her efforts in fostering student success, expanding community partnerships and enhancing academic programs.

In the Resolution of Appreciation presented to her by the Board, Board Chair Antonio W. Foster noted that Senegal has “lived out the mission of Piedmont Community College by transforming lives, strengthening community and inspiring individuals to excellence during her tenure as president.”

Senegal’s last day as PCC’s president is February 28. The Board plans to convene on Friday, February 7 in closed session to discuss appointing an interim president before beginning the search for the next president.

The Board also welcomed the newest trustee, Kyle Puryear, who was appointed by the North Carolina House of Representatives. Puyear brings a wealth of experience and a strong dedication to education and community, also serving as Chairman of the Person County Board of Commissioners.

During the meeting, trustees discussed program and project updates, including the addition of a bus shelter on the Person County Campus and renovations to the science labs on the Person County Campus.
