Piedmont Community College (PCC) is offering 15 hand-on summer camps that will include a variety of engaging activities and educational opportunities for 6th-12th graders (ages vary by camp) that range in subjects like healthcare, technology, robotics and welding.
PCC’s 2025 summer camps include:
Agribusiness Technology: In this camp, campers will learn about plant and animal science, learn current trends in agriculture and review the variety of agricultural opportunities within the region to gain perspectives on its importance to the community. Available June 16-19 on the Caswell County Campus.
Emergency Medical Services: Engage in discussions and hands-on activities designed to provide the ability to help others in their greatest time of need. Learn life saving measures such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), treating for shock, stopping bleeding, positioning person for better airway usage, immobilizing fractures and more. Available June 23-26 on the Caswell County Campus.
MakeCode Arcade Video Game: In this camp, campers will learn how to design and code their very own video game using MakeCode Arcade. No experience needed, just bring your creativity and get ready to bring characters, levels and challenges to life. By the end of the class, you’ll have a playable game to show off to your friends and family. Available June 9-12 on the Person County Campus.
Build Dreams into Reality with Robotics: Explore the world of robotics and automation in the mechatronics engineering field. This hands-on camp covers the design and operation of mechanical and electrical systems including hydraulic and pneumatics, electrical circuits, mechanical drives and methods of automation. Available June 16-19 on the Person County Campus.
Crime Busters: Campers will have the opportunity to explore mock crime scenes and process fingerprints and footprints. Discussions and activities reveal the roles of the police, courts and corrections. Available June 16-19 on the Person and Caswell County Campuses.
Exploring Health Careers: Explore careers in the health or medical field such as nursing, nurse aide, medical assisting, phlebotomy and more. Campers will be introduced to various careers through demonstrations, hands-on experiences and role play. Available June 9-12 on the Person County Campus.
Psych Sleuth: Become a psych-detective and explore the secrets of the mind. Campers will crack psychological puzzles, analyze people and perfect their detective skills through experiments, social investigations, escape rooms and other challenging games. Available June 9-12 on the Person County Campus.
“Give Nursing a Shot!”: Campers will explore a variety of careers that nurses play in health care fields. Topics include basic nursing skills, infection control, simulation lab, role of the nurse in community settings, health informatics, burns and wounds and CPR. Available June 9-12 on the Person County Campus and June 16-18 on the Caswell County Campus.
Summer Workshop in Mathematics (SWIM): This camp is for students looking for PCC math preparation for the fall semester. The camp dives into MAT 143 – Quantitative Literacy, MAT 152 – Statistical Methods I or MAT 171 – Precalculus Algebra. Snacks will be provided each day. Available June 9-12 on the Person County Campus and June 23-26 on the Caswell County Campus.
Welding Camp: Campers will gain hands-on welding experience while learning the difference between a MIG and a TIG weld. PCC’s instructor will also review terminology and equipment safety. Available June 16-19 on the Caswell County Campus and June 16-19 at Bartlett Yancey High School.
