Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) Jim Tagliareni, Vice President of Information Technology (IT) and Chief Information Officer (CIO), has been elected as the new President of the North Carolina Community Colleges Chief Information Officer Association (CIOA).

As president of the CIOA, Tagliareni will collaborate with IT leaders statewide to advance educational technology, cybersecurity, and data management, ensuring a secure and efficient environment for North Carolina community colleges. With over 32 years in IT and serving as PCC’s CIO since 2021, Tagliareni has led PCC to achieve the highest security rating in the state.

“We are thrilled to see Jim assume this significant leadership role,” Dr. Pamela G. Senegal, PCC president said. “His vision, expertise, and passion for technology in education will undoubtedly make a positive impact not only at PCC but also across the entire North Carolina Community College System.”
