Welding Level I
This course introduces oxy-fuel and plasma-arc cutting systems as well as basic welding processes. Topics include safety, proper equipment setup, and the operation of oxy-fuel and plasma-arc cutting equipment with a welding emphasis placed on beads applied with gases, mild steel fillers, electrodes and the capillary action of solder. Upon completion, students should be able to oxy-fuel and plasma-arc cut metals of varying thickness and be able to set up welding and oxy-fuel equipment and perform welding, brazing, and soldering processes.
