Piedmont Community College (PCC) partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina to host a produce bag distribution event on the Caswell County Campus during the spring 2026 semester.

Second Harvest Food Bank, along with PCC faculty and staff, distributed free bags of produce, samples of strawberry pepper salsa and materials related to nutrition and healthy eating. Advisors and recruiters were also available to provide information about PCC. A total of 80 bags of produce were distributed.

“We are very grateful to Second Harvest Food Bank for returning to our Caswell County Campus and once again providing this essential service for our students and community members, Jessica Agbemavor, PCC’s AmeriCorps VISTA, Food Insecurity Project Coordinator, said. “Ensuring that our students have consistent access not only to enough food, but also to healthy and nutritious food options is a main priority for us at Piedmont Community College. Connecting students with resources that support this need represents an important step in addressing food and nutrition insecurity amongst our students.”
