  • Medical terminology;
  • Safety and universal precautions;
  • Healthcare delivery systems;
  • Patient relations;
  • Anatomy and physiology;
  • Specimen collection.

    $15 BLS CPR Card
    $50 Lab Fee

    This is a noncredit certificate course, and it does not qualify for financial aid or payment plans. See financial assistance below.
  2. Textbooks:
    Hartman’s Complete Guide for the Phlebotomy Technician, 2nd Edition

  3. Uniform: Red scrubs (2-3 sets recommended), black leather closed toe closed heel shoes, and black socks are required for lab and clinical days.
  4. National Healthcareers Association (NHA) Certification exam – $129
  5. NHA Online Practice Exam & Study Guide – $84 (paid to NHA during the first week of class)
  6. Verified Credentials – $126.20 Criminal Background Check and Urine Drug Screen.
  7. The following immunizations are required.
    • Hepatitis B (series of 3 doses or a Titers blood test)
    • Influenza
    • MMR (series of 2 doses or a Titers blood test)
    • Tdap
    • Tuberculous
    • Varicella (Chicken Pox) (series of 2 doses or a Titers blood test)
    • COVID Vaccination (waivers are not accepted)

Prerequisites: High school diploma or GED Equivalency. Students who do not currently meet this requirement but will be able to do so within twelve months of the exam date may be eligible for a Provisional Certification. Click here for more information.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:

  • Scholarships are available for Person or Caswell County Residents, of 1 year or more, to cover registration fee only. The link to apply will be sent via email with your payment instructions once you have been registered for the course.
  • Students residing outside Person and Caswell Counties or those needing assistance to pay for full course are encouraged to contact their local NC Works or Telamon Corporation Office to find out if they qualify for their services.


CLASS WITHDRAWAL/TRANSFER POLICY:  

  • 100% refund if REQUESTED prior to the course beginning or course cancellation
  • 75% refund if REQUESTED before the 10% point of the total course meetings
