PCC continuing education students awarded scholarships from State Employees Credit Union

SECU scholarships are designed to help meet the needs of North Carolina’s unemployed and underemployed citizens by providing short-term job training for new careers or retraining. Funds are available for Phlebotomy Technician, Cardiovascular Technician, EMT, Certified Logistic Technician (CLT), Certified Production Technician (CPT), Advanced Manufacturing/Siemens Level I, HVAC Heating, and HVAC Air Conditioning.

High school students meet with local industry and learn about free training at PCC that will help them get employed

PCC's High School Career and College Promise Coach McKenzie Hedrick hosted a Certified Logistics Technician Day at Bartlett Yancey High School where local industry reps showcased their products and working environment to students. Participants learned the benefits of enrolling in PCC’s free Certified Logistics Technician training while in high school. The main message from employers: we are hiring people with skills learned from the CLT training program.

Each year students in PCC Digital Effects and Animation Technology program hope to attend the East Coast Game Conference to gain knowledge from industry experts and ideas on improving their portfolio and future job opportunities. In 2020, students will attend knowing that a supportive donor would like to see them benefit from the various seminars and overall experience.

Happy Holidays from PCC College to re-open on January 2 with extended hours on January 6-7

Piedmont Community College (PCC) will close at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 20 and remain closed through January 1 for students, faculty, and staff. The College will re-open on January 2, offering late registration for the Spring Semester. Upon returning in January, PCC will offer extended registration hours on January 6-7, 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Spring Semester classes begin January 8.
