Medication Technician

The Medication Technician for Adult Care Homes course is a 24 hour training program developed to meet the requirements mandated by NC legislation to train unlicensed staff who will be administering medications to residents in North Carolina Adult Care Home environment (i.e. Assisted Living Facilities, Group homes).

Following successful completion of the class the student will be prepared to take the written state medication exam for unlicensed staff in an adult care home which is administered by the NC Division of Health Services Regulation. There is a $25.00 testing fee.

This course is held in Yanceyville, NC, on the Caswell County Campus. We are located at 331 Piedmont Drive, Yanceyville, NC.

*Please note – this course certifies students to administer medication in adult care homes (i.e. assisted living facilities) in North Carolina only. Individuals who are licensed CNA’s and wish to administer medication in nursing homes will need to take the Medication Aide course (see Health and Wellness Programs). There are no prerequisites for the course.

Registration fee – $95*
Registration includes the following charges:
$70 Tuition
$25 Lab Fee
DHSR: $25 State competency exam

No textbook required
